Joshua Bell

Joshua Bell is one of the most celebrated violinists of his era: soloist, chamber musician, recording artist and conductor. Violinist Joshua Bell has been captivating audiences around the globe for more than 20 years. Known for his poetic musicality Bell has recorded more than 40 CDs garnering Grammy, Mercury, Gramophone and Echo Klassik awards and is recipient of the Avery Fisher Prize. Joshua Bell is an exclusive Sony Classical artist, Sony Classical releases Bell’s newest album “For the Love of Brahms”.

Born in Bloomington, Ind., Bell received his first violin at age four. At age 12, he began studying with Josef Gingold at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he is now on faculty. Two years later, he came to national attention in his debut with Riccardo Muti and the Philadelphia Orchestra and at 17, debuted at Carnegie Hall.

The Grammy-winning violinist Joshua Bell – American musician whose technical accomplishments and versatility in classical and popular music made him one of the most successful and critically lauded violinists in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. He performs on the 1713 Huberman Stradivarius. Joshua Bell is an outspoken advocate for classical music and keeping music education in schools.

“Bell has evolved from a technical whiz to a true artist and intellectual whose music feeds both your brain and your heart,” said Newsweek .

Joshua has been featured on many television programs including “The Tonight Show,” “Nightline,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “CBS This Morning,” A&E’s “Biography,” and the PBS programs “Charlie Rose,” “Evening at Pops,” “Live from Lincoln Center” and “Sesame Street.” He has been profiled in publications including People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People issue, The New York Times , Elle , Esquire , Newsweek , Vogue , Gramophone , Strad, Strings and USA Weekend. Joshua was one of the first classical artists to have a music video air on VH1 and he has been the subject of a BBC Omnibus documentary. Elle Magazine stated that Joshua “is the most celebrated American-born violinist of the modern era.”
