Free Film Festival Central Park New York.  August 21-26  The Film Festival is FREE. Tickets are not required. Six great movies filmed in New York: Annie, The Wiz, The Great Gatsby, Saturday Night Fever,The Godfather, Spider-Man 3 .

The Central Park Conservancy Film Festival is a beloved summer tradition that showcases great films in a great urban park. Celebrate New York City with a lineup of movies filmed in New York.
As part of the Conservancy’s ongoing commitment to support New York City parks, the Central Park Conservancy Film Festival will include free outdoor screenings in Marcus Garvey Park and Central Park.

Gates open at 6:30 pm
DJ from 6:30 pm until movie starts at 8:00 pm  All movies are open captioned.

To ensure that everyone can enjoy the films, the following are not permitted: alcoholic beverages, glass bottles, chairs, video cameras, and tape recorders.Event is subject to cancellation due to weather.

Ever since her parents left her as a baby, Annie (Quvenzhané Wallis) has been leading a hard knock life with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan. Everything changes when hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx) takes her in. Stacks believes he’s her guardian angel, but Annie’s self-assured nature and bright, sun-will-come-out-tomorrow outlook on life just might mean it’s the other way around.

In this re-imagining of The Wizard of Oz, Harlem schoolteacher Dorothy (Diana Ross) tries to save her dog during a storm and ends up in the Land of Oz. Dorothy learns that the only way to get back home is to see the Wiz (Richard Pryor), and is joined on her journey by a Scarecrow (Michael Jackson), a Tin Man (Nipsey Russell), and a Cowardly Lion (Ted Ross).
