Dear Nadia and friends: Leria and I are heading to St. Louis from Dallas next week to see two performances of The Opera Theater of St. Louis. On the 22nd we will see Macbeth in the afternoon, and Ariadne auf Naxos that evening. A little bit of heaven for the Opera Fan. It’s our first trip to St. Louis, and first time at OTSL. We are following the young exciting soprano, Marjorie Owens, singing Ariadne. She’s from Virginia, and got her early training at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. (!) We first became aware of her when she won The Dallas Opera Vocal Competition a few years ago. Since then she has been a leading soprano at Dresden, and is just now realizing her potential as a dramatic soprano.
We will be driving from Dallas, and spending a few days in St. Louis, and would welcome meeting other opera fans there.
