Dee Dee Bridgewater with the Theo Croker Quintet

For this special night, Bridgewater performs music closely associated with Josephine Baker as well as the popular French chanson singers of the era including Edith Piaf and Charles Trenet—music she released as an homage to Baker as well as her adopted home country of France on her 2005 album, J’ai deux Amours, named for the song Baker made her own. In 2008 Dee Dee was the recipient of the prestigious French Award the Commandeur Dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and just this past year received the Officier Dans Legion d’Honneur.
